Hockley: Warren Ranch
(See Photo Below)

Description
Hockley Warren Ranch is currently closed as of 5/31/2008.
This property has two lakes 5 and 150 acres (when full). The 5-acre lake was stocked in the early part of 2002 with various forage fish. Shortly thereafter it was stocked with Florida strain bass. As of May of 2006 bass have been caught in the 6-pound range. Trees completely surround the lake creating good cover and protection from the wind. This lake has a well pumping into it keeping water at a good constant level during hot summer months. A good area has been cleared to launch boats.
The 150-acre lake is now open (spring ’06). We didn’t have it open in the past because there wasn’t a high population of bass. We knew the lake was very fertile and had a good population of forage fish and we just needed the bass to catch up. Well now it has and the bass are healthy and on an upswing. This lake is mostly shallow, but with it being so big it has a lot more to offer. It has lily pads and plenty of wooded cover when full. Bank fishing can be difficult when the lake is full. Recent reports have given good numbers of very healthy bass.
There is no club boat available at this site.
